Education for July
The Needles Landmark Attraction are proud to announce that we are working with the IW College and their Moving Up Supported Internship Programme.
Their Pathways programmes are ‘stepping stones’ for school leavers and adults. Not only will they spend time studying but they will significantly increase their self-confidence and abilities. They will also have the opportunity to gain a recognised full-time or part-time qualification from a wide range of schemes that the IW College have on offer.
The 3 learners are from Moving Up which is a supported internship programme, this is a course for people with special educational needs, enabling them to access work experience and eventually find employment. They spend 2 days a week in college learning about the world of work and how to write a CV, how to apply for jobs.
The learners Jacob, Robert and Tash, are with The Needles for one day a week for 6 weeks. They are joining the maintenance team, kitchens, retail and office team, to experience real life workplaces.
EHCP students who have a keen interest in work and to leave education, and have completed substantial work experience on either the Pathways or Insights course, can progress to Moving Up. Moving Up is a supported internship programme focussing on employability and based in the workplace and college.
